Biography
Greg Mitchell got his start in songwriting as many do, playing in local bands around north Alabama and south Tennessee eventually leaving his home near Guntersville and moving to Tennessee where he could be closer to Nashville and the songwriting business. A long time member of and “professional volunteer” to the Nashville Songwriters Association, Greg has had the opportunity to work and associate with some of the brightest and best writing, publishing, and performing talent in Nashville. Greg has performed and written songs in almost every genre of music including one country love ballad which was recorded by an independent New York artist in 2014. Greg's songs have won numerous awards and he has performed alongside some of the great songwriters of our time such as Jim McBride, Roger Murrah, Kerry Kurt Phillips, Aaron Barker, and his good friend Jim Parker at regular haunts like the Commodore Grille in Nashville and The Red Caboose in Elkmont, Al where he coordinates a songwriting group.
