Peggy Burton sang as the South Jackson Street Band performed this song on Saturday, September 19, 2020 at the Wiseman Park Pavilion in Lynchburg, Tennessee for the annual Horse Play fundraiser.
Herman Hupfeld wrote this song in 1931, but it didn't become famous until 11 year later with Warner Brothers featured it in the movie Casablanca. Guitarist Ron Hackett recorded this instrumental guitar solo version in his studio that he calls, Ron's World Famous Guitar Lounge because of a plaque given to him by his sister.
Guitarist Ron Hackett performs his arrangement of Over the Rainbow, which was written by Harold Arlen and Yip Harburg for The Wizard of Oz in 1939. Actress Judy Garland sang the song, and it became her signature song. Over the Rainbow won the Academy Award for Best Original Song that year. This performance was recorded on Monday, April 27, 2020 in the studio of Ron's World Famous Guitar Lounge in Tennessee.
